This is a vintage postcard of Twenty Grand, the winner of the 1931 Kentucky Derby. As the postcard says, he first came into prominence breaking the world record for a mile in 1930. After he won the Derby, he soon after went lame and never recovered.
The postcard is in very good to excellent condition, with very little wear and no writing or postage marks. Please see all photos for best assessment. Thanks for your interest.
This is an advertising sign for the rematch horse race between Gate Dancer & Imp Society that was held in 1983 at the Aksarben horse track in Omaha Ne. This is one of the original signs from Aksarben.. I use to live across the street. It is a cardboard sign that measures approx 18x23 in size. It has some moisture stain at the bottom of sign as my photo shows. The stain is also on the bottom of the backside. Backside also has a tape damage spot. Otherwise it is in great condition. Would be a great item for someone's collection.
