I am pleased to offer a fabulous program from Hollywood Park featuring the 1951 July 4th American Handicap. The race included the 1948 triple crown champion Citation and champion filly Bewitch. The program is in excellent plus condition with very light pencil throughout the program.
Up for bid is the actual participation fly sheet/blanket presented to the connections of
ROMANSH
, recognizing his participation in the 2013 Grade 2 $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby won by Will Take Charge.
ROMANSH
finished 6th. Inaugurated in 1979, the race has been won by the likes of Broad Brush, Summer Squall, Macho Uno, Harlan's Holiday and Frosted, and has elevated itself to a defining race for three-year-olds that is a mere notch below races like the Haskell. The son of Bernardini was a multiple Grade 3 winner who competed at the highest levels of the sport, finishing 3rd to Palace Malice in the iconic Grade 1 Met Mile.
In addition to the fly sheet/blanket, winner also receives a signed COA documenting its provenance which I acquired directly from the groom of
ROMANSH
. The fly sheet/blanket
comes from the estate of noted horse racing enthusiast and prolific collector, former sheriff Clare Noble, who passed away in the summer of 2018.
The fly sheet blanket was manufactured by Whips International exclusively for Parx. It remains in excellent un-worn condition. W
