Straight from an estate sale in Kentucky comes this Rare 1938 The Great N.C.R. Derby Horseshoe Horse Racing Paperweight/Ashtray/Trophy ~ National Cash Register. It’s hard to say exactly what this piece was created to be used for, because there’s not a lot of information out there on it. What I’ve been able to find is that The Great N.C.R. Derby was a horse race sponsored by the National Cash Register Company in 1938. This piece is made of cast iron and could been a paperweight, ashtray, or even possibly a trophy. Measures: 3 5/8” X 3 1/16” X 1”. The piece reads: The Great N.C.R. Derby May-June 1938 and is marked Made in U.S.A. on the back. Very nice piece of any collection. Buyer pays shipping.
