The official program of the 1979 TOP FLIGHT Handicap held at the AQUEDUCT featured WAYA, and was piloted by Hall of Fame jockey Angel Cordero, Jr. WAYA was awarded championship honors as the top older female horse in 1979.
In the Fifth Race on the undercard, COASTAL, would win an allowance race. COASTAL is best remembered as the upset winner over SPECTACULAR BID in the 1979 BELMONT Stakes.
WAYA was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019.
