For 17 years FourStarDave was a favorite at Saratoga. From 1987 to 1994, he won at least one race every year earning him the nickname of the Sultan of Saratoga. He ran 100 races across the Eastern US winning 21 times, finishing second 18 times and third 16 times for a total earnings of over $1.6 million. This made him the highest earning New York-bred race horse in that state's history. Alas FourStarDave's popularity attributed to his death at 17 years old. He died of a heart attack in October, 2002 while preparing for a parade of retired New York-bred horses at Belmont Park and was buried in Clare Court at Saratoga where he made his fame. Here is a beautiful bobblehead made by Saratoga as a tribute to their favorite horse. It shows him with his number 8 saddle walking. The base on one side reads FourStarDave and the other side reads Sultan of Saratoga. His head bobbles. The original box is missing but the bobblehorse will be carefully bubble wrapped to prevent damage. This is an impossible to find item.
